I never understand human beings. They claim to want X but go along with Y for a number of other reasons they don’t even know, and all of us can only imagine. The lesson from all this, is to introspect and ask yourself what is it you finds so appealing, that got you into and/or keeps you in a relationship like this. I don’t care what it is; knowing it will certainly help you moving forward.
It may not be even flattering to your ego when you figure it out. It may be being with an asian man. It may be being with a man like your father. It may be being with a man like a movie star you saw growing up. It may be being with a guy who is like the guy you had a big crush on, in Junior high. It may be that you want a guy who you feel you can save. It may be fear of the unknown, preferring to deal with the devil you know than the devil you don’t know. It may be feeling of inadequacy you have about yourself where you feel you can’t do much better. Knowing it will help you rid yourself of it, if it’s detrimental to your best long term interests. At the very least you will be able to control yourelf about it.
The problem is moving from relationship to relationship, never ever figuring out this deep trigger, need or desire, so you keep repeating the same mistake.
